Welcome

Welcome to the ΣAE Pennsylvania Phi chapter fraternity website. Our brotherhood was founded in 1856 at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and locally here at Carnegie Mellon University in 1919. Since its inception, over 280,000 college men have chosen to pledge and ultimately become brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, making it the country's largest national fraternity. For a more complete history of ΣAE, please visit our national headquarters' website. Explore our chapter's site for more information about our brotherhood. If you are interested in becoming a member, please stop by to get to know the brothers and feel free to contact any of us.

Upcoming Events

Spring Carnival: It is finally that time! Come by and reunite with alumni and brothers. Alumni and their families are invited from all over the world to come back to their fraternity for a four day celebration, April 16th - 19th (Thursday-Sunday). We will be running Buggy for the first time in a decade. We anticipate being fairly competitive and have worked hard for it. In addition, we are building a formidable booth themed after "The Little Rascals". The booth is likely to be the better than in recent years. There are several events and night outings planned by other alumni. On Saturday the 18th at noon their will be a luncheon at our newly renovated house followed by an alumni meeting at 2pm for all those wanting to attend. This will be a carnival you do not want to miss.

Buggy Update: After successfully completing seven rolls first semester, the brothers of the ΣAE buggy team are eager to get the spring season started. We will be rolling Rubicon in this year’s Spring Carnival; the first time any of the actives have participated in Sweepstakes. I am pleased to announce we finished fall rolls with no fines for missing chores, something only three other organizations were able to do. This is a testament to the level of enthusiasm and dedication the brotherhood is bringing to the rejuvenation of ΣAE Buggy. Additionally, our push team is looking very athletic thanks to the high level of participation in club sports amongst the brotherhood.

Greek Sing: Back in 1972, Sigma Alpha Epsilon broke the traditional choir-like style of Carnegie Mellon's annual Greek Sing with a show called Frat Side Story. Over 30 years later, the actives at Pennsylvania Phi are looking to break yet another barrier in the school's biggest fundraiser by competing in the doubles category with another Fraternity. Pi Kappa Alpha proposed to work with us early in the fall semester and we figured we'd give it a shot. One month later in mid-November of 2008, we agreed to write an original script to be performed with the Pikes on March 21st called, "The 300: A Love Story". It was performed on March 21st at Soldiers and Sailors auditorium to a cheering crowd. The show went well with many laughs from the audience and we again proved to be the crowd favorite.

We invite you to listen to the ΣAE Greek Sing productions which broke the mold and paved way for our current style.
